External Grievance Redress Mechanism
Starsight Energy is committed to operating responsibly and engaging openly with the people and communities affected by our activities. We believe everyone impacted by our operations has the right to raise concerns, ask questions, or lodge complaints in a safe, fair, and transparent way.
Our External Grievance Redress Mechanism (E-GRM) provides a formal process for external stakeholders to raise concerns related to our operations and receive a timely and respectful response.
What Is the Grievance Redress Mechanism?
The Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) is a channel through which individuals or groups can raise concerns or complaints about the environmental, social, health, safety, operational, or ethical impacts of Starsight Energy’s activities or those of our contractors.
Who Can Use the E-GRM?
The E-GRM is open to all external stakeholders, including:
- Community members living or working near client facilities
- Customers and client representatives
- Contractors and subcontractor personnel
- Suppliers and vendors
- Government agencies and regulators
- Civil society organisations and NGOs
- Any member of the public affected by our operations
Complaints may be submitted individually, collectively, through a representative, or anonymously.
What Types of Concerns Can Be Raised?
You may raise grievances related to, but not limited to:
- Environmental impacts (e.g. noise, dust, pollution, waste)
- Community disturbance or social impacts
- Health and safety risks
- Contractor or worker misconduct
- Labour or workforce-related issues affecting external parties
- Service or operational disruptions.
- Ethical concerns or legal non-compliance
- Gender based Harassment and Violence (GBVH)
Grievances that are commercial disputes or unrelated to Starsight Energy’s operations may be referred to other appropriate channels.
How Can I Submit a Grievance?
You can submit a grievance using any of the following channels:
Online: Complete the grievance submission form available on this website.
Email: Send an email to grievance@starsightenergy.com
In Person: Speak directly with a Starsight Energy Project Manager, Site Engineer, Site Manager, or contractor representative at our operational sites
You may choose to remain anonymous if you prefer.
Please note that anonymous grievances will be assessed, but direct feedback may not be possible.
What Happens After I Submit a Grievance?
- Acknowledgement
- Your grievance will be acknowledged within 7 days.
- You will receive a reference number, contact point, and expect timelines.
- If submitted in person and resolved immediately, verbal acknowledgement may be sufficient.
- If you submit the complaint form provided and choose to report anonymously, the complaint will be reviewed, but you will not receive information on its resolution process.
- Assessment and Investigation
- Grievances are reviewed and classified based on severity.
- Minor issues may be resolved at site level.
- More serious cases are investigated by Corporate Grievance Management Committee, with independent oversight.
- Resolution
- A resolution may include corrective actions, changes to practices, mediation, or other appropriate measures.
- You will be informed of the outcome and invited to give feedback.
- Escalation
- If you are not satisfied, the grievance may be reviewed further or referred to an independent third party.
- You may also choose to pursue external legal or regulatory remedies at any time.
Confidentiality and Protection from Retaliation
Starsight Energy takes confidentiality seriously. No individual will be penalised, intimidated, or disadvantaged for raising a concern in good faith.
Special care is taken in handling sensitive grievances, including GBVH cases, using a survivor‑centered approach.
Our Governance and Oversight
All grievances are recorded and tracked through a central system.
Investigations and outcomes are reviewed by an internal Grievance Management Committee, with senior management oversight to ensure fairness and accountability.
